Our spring planting campaign is becoming more and more popular, both in Europe and in Paraguay. A heartfelt thank you to all those who have supported our project so far in order to enrich nature and protect the environment.
We recently received the first donation directly from Paraguay. The well-known dentist and passionate nature lover Doktora Vanessa Miranda from Melgarejo (Colonia Independencia), known to many here from the local television channel “Kanal 8”, has donated seven native trees to the Panambi project. It is our first donation in natural form and a truly special gift.

The donated trees include a Yvyra Pyta, a Peteribí, the wild fruit tree Guavira, an Urundey Mi, an Ovenia and a yellow and a pink Lapacho - the national tree of Paraguay. They sit here in their little box patiently waiting to be brought to join the forest next week.
These tree species used to be widespread in Paraguay. Children climbed around in their branches, their fruit was enjoyed and tereré, Paraguay's national drink, was drunk in the shade of these trees, But today, places where these magnificent trees can still be found have become rare.
The yellow lapacho in particular is hardly to be seen anymore.
Vanessa Miranda has observed that nowadays it is mainly European immigrants who plant new trees, while many locals are less aware of reforestation. Time and again, existing trees are even chopped down by locals to make room for other uses. With her donation, Vanessa wants to set an example and support the Panambi reforestation project on behalf of the people of Paraguay - in the hope of encouraging more locals to actively protect nature and see reforestation as a community task.

In the coming week, we will plant these trees on our property in Takuarita and give them the best possible care. We will report on this in detail in the next blog post.
It fills us with joy and gratitude that our project has already been received so positively and that numerous donations have already been received.
However, we still have a lot of work ahead of us to revitalize the entire reforestation area. We therefore continue to ask for your support - be it through donations in material, financial contributions or active help. Every tree, every gesture of help counts to finance the cleaning and planting work as well as the purchase of further seedlings.
Join us and help us to preserve and revitalize the rainforest!
A big thank you to everyone who has accompanied us on this journey.
Cordially,
Ingo and Silvia
