Meet Ingo, the tree whisperer on site

Paraguay is an interesting country in many ways and I loved it from the very beginning. The bright blue sky, the always warm nights filled with the heavy scent of flowers, the flocks of green parrots migrating over the land, many species of butterflies, streams and fruit trees that make the heart beat faster. I spent many nights outside, building huts and listening to the cicadas sing while gazing at the deep black, twinkling starry sky by the campfire.

In Germany, I was mainly involved in organic seed production and agricultural consulting for organic farms.  This mainly involved topics such as soil revitalization, organic mixed crops and plant nutrition. Immediately after my arrival in Paraguay, I started a completely different project. This was the re-enrichment of rainforest with species that were no longer present due to overexploitation. The project covered 70 hectares of forest, where I first conducted surveys to count which species were actually present. I categorized the population density and then obtained seedlings of the missing species. I then prepared the forest and reforested it biologically.

This project took about a year and deeply

rooted me in the Paraguayan forest.

Later, I constructed integral forest garden and agroforestry systems in different levels of cultivation, continued to work on the cultivation of organic vegetables and organic fruit growing with self-sufficiency systems, which I developed and implemented for others in several projects. These projects included permaculture elements, agroforestry systems, garden systems, combined water and land systems and the associated buildings and installations, as well as a current project for soil revitalization of soils contaminated with aluminium.

When I met Silvia, we were both in a phase and ready to start a new project. We met at the right time on a piece of land that was unique in its location and features and that was perfect to start a new project that will become a beacon for Paraguay.

Conservation of virgin forest and restoration of unique habitat for rare species, especially with the background of raising awareness for us and all the people involved in the project, which is the cornerstone of everything that will be the future for us. Since our first meeting, we have been walking this path together intensively for many months and hope for many supporters for this project to which we have both dedicated our hearts.

And sometimes I am a substitute dad for Loros that have fallen out of their nest.
